Online Registration Begins for 16th International Operation Lifesaver Symposium & Training Seminars
WASHINGTON, DC, March 18, 2010 - Online registration is now available for Navigating Rail Safety - It's Common Sense! the 16th International Operation Lifesaver Symposium & Training Seminars, to be held August 30-September 1, 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Operation Lifesaver, Inc. (http://www.oli.org) the national, nonprofit rail safety education organization, holds the Symposium every two years to bring the latest information on improving safety around tracks and trains to its volunteers and safety partners. Three hundred registrants, speakers and guests are expected at this year’s Symposium, which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor.
“Operation Lifesaver’s dedicated volunteers and safety partners are passionate about reducing vehicle-train collisions and pedestrian rail trespass incidents through what we call the ‘3 E’s’ - Education, Engineering and Enforcement,” notes OLI President Helen M. Sramek. “This year’s Symposium will be packed with helpful information, inspiring speakers, and refresher training for key highway-rail safety and trespass prevention officials. Federal, state and local highway safety officials, Operation Lifesaver state program coordinators and trainers, and international railway safety advocates will benefit from attending this leadership conference.”
An exhibit area will again be a part of the Symposium, showcasing the latest technology and issues. Motivational speaker and safety expert Syd Muzzy will present the closing workshop.
Details on the Symposium, including a preliminary schedule, hotel reservations information, and a downloadable flyer are available online at http://bit.ly/a2U2ao.
