Operation Lifesaver, Inc. Shares Rail Safety Message on International Stage

By Operation Lifesaver

WASHINGTON, DC, June 3, 2025 – Operation Lifesaver, Inc. (OLI) will be participating in International Level Awareness Crossing Day (ILCAD) on June 5th as well as presenting rail safety initiatives and best practices at the international conference in York, United Kingdom June 4-6. Executive Director, Rachel Maleh, provides a statement in advance of this year’s global gathering.

“Operation Lifesaver, Inc. (OLI) is proud to again be a featured speaker at this year’s Trespad and ILCAD Conference. This international forum brings together transportation leaders, rail experts and public safety advocates committed to one goal: saving lives.

“This year’s ILCAD theme – Safe decisions, every time – echoes OLI’s mission to empower people with the knowledge to navigate railroad environments safely. Every 3 hours in the U.S., a person or vehicle is hit by a train – a sobering reminder of why this work matters.

“At this conference, OLI will share proven strategies and educational resources that drive behavior change and reduce risk. These include using highly targeted messaging designed to help people of all ages and vocations make informed choices around tracks and trains.

“Rail safety education is a shared responsibility. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, transportation professional or first responder, you can help save lives by using and sharing OLI’s materials. Explore programs in your state, request a free presentation or explore volunteering at oli.org.

Together, we can stop track tragedies – one smart decision at a time.”
