According to FRA statistics, 2,202 highway-rail grade crossing collisions occurred in 2022. There were 269 crossing fatalities and 827 crossing injuries in 2022 across the U.S. Approximately 85% of all 2022 highway-rail grade crossing collisions occurred in these states.
