National Transportation Safety Board Vice Chairman Christopher Hart

National Transportation Safety Board Vice Chairman Christopher Hart addressed current issues in transportation safety in the opening general session on May 14. He has served as Vice Chairman of the Board since August 2009 and became Acting Chairman after April 25 when Board Chair Deborah Hersman became President and CEO of the National Safety Council.

Motivational Speaker Eric Alexander

Motivational speaker, skier, climber, and mountaineer Eric Alexander is achieving his goals while playing an instrumental role in helping others to achieve their own. In 2001, Eric defied the odds and, guiding his blind friend Erik Weihenmayer, climbed to the 29,035' summit of Mt. Everest, the world's highest mountain. He and Erik scaled peaks in Russia and Australia in 2002.

On May 14, Eric shared the lessons of these incredible achievements with Leadership Conference attendees, talk about how it relates to Operation Lifesaver's safety mission, and offered advice to help each one of us reach our own "higher summit."

The theme of this must-attend event for rail safety advocates was "See Tracks? Think Train!"
